Linux Mint

Thanks for visiting my blog, even though I don’t update very much like I used to on my old blog. So here’s a quick update that I decided to do while waiting for Aaron Ogle to arrive over here at my house so we could do some things with wireless Internet and my church.

Anyone reading this might not be familiar with any other operating systems (OS) besides Windows and Mac OS. Well, there are many of different operating systems for computers that are based off of Linux, yet they are all different in ways. The majority of Linux based operating systems are free! Including the one that I’m using right now called “Linux Mint 7“. This is an awesome version of Linux and I’m loving it! Not only because it’s all free, but because it has some awesome Eye Candy that other versions of Linux I’ve tried don’t have. Another major thing that cause me to use Linux Mint is the fact that it actually supported my wireless Internet card! Here’s a screenshot of what I mean by Eye Candy:

Changing desktops

Changing desktops

You see Linux operating systems have the ability of having multiple desktops. This comes in handy when you are doing a project (coding), talking to people online, uploading files to a server, and doing something else. Because you can then place all of those things in their own desktop and then you just switch to them whenever you need to. In this screenshot I was changing desktops, and just thought that this was a pretty cool feature! Ha-ha – There are other Eye Candies that you can’t really capture by screenshot, so I’ll have to figure out somehow to take a video of my screen and then post another update!

Well, I’m off for now. So, later everyone and thanks again for reading!

God Bless,
Bradley Hilton
