2010 Colorado Hunting – PreHunting 2

Coulds Over Mountain Day two of being in Colorado, I’m dirty. No, no, no not a dirty mind! How could you think like that? I’m referring to being dirty as in dirt, dust, and no shower. Man it has been a blast so far!! Yesterday after we left the restaurant, we headed out to the camp ground and got to our cabin. Got everything unpacked and unloaded, including both four wheelers. Once everything was settled and in place where we thought we wanted it, it was time!

Time for what? Glad you asked! :) It was time four wheel riding! Not just any riding, but mountain trails riding! We left camp grounds around 4:30pm and didn’t get back till around 7pm.. In that time frame total fun happened! Went up through trails where the high mountain was on the left and a shear drop off was on the right and the trail itself was rockly bumpy. That was the fun of it, controlling the four wheeler and if you messed up  God help you. Another thing that happened while going on the trail was it started to sleet/rain. I had my sunglasses on and was glad I did cause it hurt my face at times, but it was fun!

We’re currently at Wal-Mart doing grocery shopping for stuff we forgot.. I’m tryping this up as I push the cart around lol I think we’re gonna go riding around more later, so I’m looking forward to it.

God Bless,
Bradley

P.S.: Enjoy the awesome picture I took with my phone, the Palm Pre!

Effects of Stress

Many of days now it seems as if everybody is under stress, whether it be good stress or bad stress. I know that I am usually under a whole bunch of stress and a majority of it isn’t the good kind. I’ve noticed that while under stress, there are many things that happen to me. Some of those things include pimples, gray hair, not talkative, deeper concentration, and patient.

Pimples are a major effect for me. (pictures) Before camp I was all stressed out and my face was full of them. As camp dates got nearer, I got even more stressed out because some things happened. My face was looking very horrible and I almost didn’t want to go to camp because it looked so hiddious. I decided that going to camp would do me a huge favor and I would get closer to God. I’m very thankful that I did go because it was a blessing and I had so much fun there! (As will soon be described in a blog post.) While I was at camp, I wasn’t stressed out or stressing out about anything. In fact, I almost had a care free attitude and I was a very different person down there. People who met me down there didn’t and couldn’t believe that I was actually a shy person cause I was that different. That was all fun and good, but when I had to start heading home stress hit me. When I got home around 4 (or so) I looked in the mirror and could see three pimples already forming. I wasn’t happy about it, but that’s when I realized it was an effect of stress.

Some people would laugh if I told them that I have gray hair at this young of age, but being 100% honest I do. How? Because of stress. Back before I started running the sound system, I had a nice one shade of brown hair color. Now you look at me and you’ll see that I have gray hair inside of my brown hair. I look a lot older now but I’m not complaining!

When I’m under a lot of stress and pressure of things, I tend to talk very little! In fact I would rather not talk at all when I’m under tons of stress because I might release some pressure out and yell at someone, not really meaning to. If I want to communicate with someone and not have an worries about telling, I write things out or type things out.

Since I’m not very talkative when under stress and pressure I do a lot of thinking and tend to have deeper concentration. If you look back at some things I’ve posted, you might notice that they tend to be a little deeper (*cough* Brianna *cough* :-p lol) and easier to read. One of those articles I think was the “What Will It Take”.

One of the last things that I’ve realized stress does to me (there are many more, but these are the main ones) is I can be very patient. To some that can come as a surprise since under stress and pressure, people tend to lose their patience and explode. I have been told that I’m one of the most patient people someone has meet, and especially an IT guy. I’m praying that the Lord helps me keep my patience and not lose it, especially when I get under a ton of stress and pressure!

Please don’t be grossed out too much by the pictures posted below, as they are pictures of pimples right after I got back from Camp! Shows how much stress does effect my face and looks.

Bradley

ApostolicBook

I’m sure that all my readers are well aware of the fact me and Aaron are currently working on a social networking site for Apostolic’s only. A while back I got a script that was a base for building a social networking site, but the problem I faced was it wasn’t very customizable and I didn’t have much control. So, I talked with Aaron and we finally decided that we would build our own social networking site up from nothing except our knowledge. Well, here’s my timeline of what has transpired and what I think might happen. I also will quote the introductory statement that we have stated on our Design Document.

First off, I got the idea to create a social networking site just for Apostolic young people around a year ago this month. I searched around a while for a script that made it easy to set up a social networking site that looked good and was easy for people to navigate around. Another thing that I wanted, was a script that took a person’s age and if they were under a certain age it wouldn’t let them join. After searching for a while, I finally found a pretty good script that did almost everything I wanted it to do, except I couldn’t figure out how to not allow people to join if they were younger than the certain age.

I found that script about four or five months after my first thoughts of a social networking site for Apostolic youth only. I had originally called the site “Apostolic Youth Connected” (a.k.a. AYC). Well, since I couldn’t restrict people who put in a date that stated they were under the certain age, I decided to stop messing around with the script for a while (it was also the end of my sophomore year and finals were taking place). So, since that didn’t work out and my school studies were requiring too much of my time, I decided to stop working on it for the time being. But before I stopped me and Aaron had already bought a domain name and set up a Twitter account, we also had decided to change the name to “ApostolicBook”.

Summer came and so did some major decisions. Aaron and I decided that since we had spend the money on the domain, we would try to get this going again, but this time we decided that we would build our own script up from nothing but our ideas and knowledge. It was decided that Aaron would do the main PHP, MySQL, and other server coding, while I would help him with that a little but mainly do the main CSS and styling of the website. As the summer went on we really didn’t get much finished, expect Aaron got some things here and there on the back-end done.

Recently there has been some major work being done on ApostolicBook. On September 29th, 2009 Aaron and I talked about what we wanted to do and how we want things done. After much talk and some research we decided that we would have a document online that was shared between the two of us (if you’re wondering, it is stored on Google Docs). We then set a couple of dates to get things done by a certain time because I knew we probably wouldn’t get stuff done if we didn’t set dates.

The first two dates we set was on October 6th and October 13th. On October 6th we set that we would have the Initial Design Document completed, which included the basic features, first version of our color scheme made up, and the first sketch of the user profile layout. For October 13th, we have set that we will have the “First layout draft complete”. This includes a first draft of every page that we have come up with right now in our Initial Design Document.

Small amount of the acutal 1st draft color scheme

The first draft of the color scheme has been chosen and the picture to the left are a few of the colors chosen. I’ve only included a few of the colors, cause if I did show you all of them, what would be the point of having a first launch date? Ha-ha

As ApostolicBook is under development, is there something that you as a user would like to see? If so, then please speak up and leave a comment on here or send us a direct message on Twitter.

New “Gadget”

This time I’m really sorry for all you people that read my blog for not updating it for a long time. I don’t really have a good enough excuse to put up except that I have just been putting it off and off and off. Well, I finally decided to post a new entry because I got a really cool gadget in the mail today that I ordered a while back. I bough this item off of Ebay.com on June 11th and I just now got it in the mail (today is the 26th). I’m sure that if it was you that ordered it and then it didn’t arrive until now you would be like I am, ant’s in your pants and the like… Ask anyone that lives in my house (my dad and my mom :p) about how I was acting and how I was only talking about if I didn’t get it by July 2nd then I was going to get a hold of the person and get my money back! Ha-ha

I’ve got good news now! It FINALLY arrived in the mail today!!! :D – Don’t get too excited for me now, cause that would be just a little bit weird. So I’ve decided to make this blog entry mostly about me opening the package and then charging it and then me wearing it… Here it goes:

Hong Kong!

Like I told you earlier in this post I ordered this off of Ebay.com because it was cheaper then any of the other sites that I could have went through. I didn’t notice until it was to late that this was being shipped from Hong Kong, China! (As you can hopefully see in the picture to the left. <—– ) This is the reason why I didn’t receive it until two weeks after i had ordered it. Here’s another picture of the back of it that says the postage people in China have the free will to look through the package!

"customs"

(This kind of scared me when I first saw it.) I’m now glad that we live in the United States of America! Even though our rights are getting taken away slowly but surely… Another subject for maybe not another time. If you click on any of these pictures they are HUGE, so you can click on them just like they are or you can right click and open in a new tab or open in a new window to see them better.

Package ontents

After I had looked at the back (and took a picture of it —–>) I opened the package and this is what was inside ( <—- ). I then threw the brown (actually looks green in real life) aside and opened the bubble wrap packing. Inside of that is what I wanted and have been waiting for, for what seems like forever! But it was inside a zip lock baggy, so I opened this and there it was! My new Motorola S9 Bluetooth Stereo Headset has finally arrived! Here’s some pictures of it out of the package and charging.

Well that’s it for right now, except to tell everyone that in ONE week I’m leaving for PA!!! Going to be gone for a week and half to just hang out and then the rest of the second week I’m going to a Akron Youth Conference in Ohio! Going to be fun and a blast and relaxing… Until next time,

God Bless,
Bradley Hilton

P.S: I don’t look half way decent right now so that’s why there isn’t any pictures of me wearing this. I hope you all understand! I plan on making a new blog post (entry) whenever I get the chance to look half way decent and get the chance to take pictures. Thanks for understanding and be looking for the new post!

Dominic Davila

Yesterday was probably the funnest day of my spring break! I went and hung out with my cousin Tori Hilton and it was way funner then going and playing racquetball and trying to figure out how to make a template for Joomla. Lol – But anyways, me and Tori have been talking about hanging out since last Saturday (the 14th ) and we finally figured out this yesterday would work good. Well Sis. Davila, from Olathe, KS, had a baby boy and I am friends with that family’s daughter and she kept saying how cute he was and stuff. So, I wanted to see this baby and what he really looked like. I asked her if there was any way that she could send me pictures of him and she had someone send me pictures of him, but pictures aren’t anything compared to seeing babies in real life.

I finally went over to her house and just stayed there for a while doing nothing, but then we finally decided that we wanted to go now to the hospital (after some stuff happened lol). We finally went down to the hospital to see the baby and we had Elora (one of the Davila’s daughters which is Tori and I’s age) come down and meet us to show us the way because we both had no idea where to go. Haha – But then we got up to the room and man that baby was small, yet I kind of expected he would be since he’s a baby :P haha. Anyways, they asked us if we wanted to hold him and Tori said sure, but I didn’t because I have always been scared to hold any baby because I’m scared I would drop him/her. I got a picture of the baby on my phone, so here’s the picture from my phone and then I’ll show you the ones I got by email.
